JERUSALEM — In a spectacular display of modern warfare, Crime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to eradicating Hamas—regardless of the cost. The recent Israeli air raid in Gaza, ostensibly aimed at rescuing four hostages, resulted in the deaths of at least 274 Palestinians, including dozens of children, as reported by Gaza’s Health Ministry. This latest operation has not only sparked international outrage but also led to the resignation of Israel’s centrist minister Benny Gantz, who apparently still has a conscience.
Gantz, in his resignation speech, condemned the government’s actions, stating, “I joined this government to ensure the security of Israel and its people, but apparently, I was the only one who thought that didn’t mean killing children. Netanyahu’s idea of security seems to involve making sure there are no Palestinians left to secure.”
Netanyahu, unfazed by the rising civilian death toll, defended his actions in a press conference. “Hamas hides among civilians, so naturally, we must bomb civilians to get to Hamas. It’s simple logic,” he explained, adding with a shrug, “You can’t make an omelet without breaking a few hundred eggs, right?”
Critics argue that Netanyahu’s strategy is less about defeating Hamas and more about maintaining his iron grip on power. “Netanyahu knows that nothing rallies his base like a good old-fashioned massacre,” said political analyst Miriam Kaplan. “Fear and bloodshed are his go-to campaign strategies.”
International observers were equally scathing. “Netanyahu’s tactics are like using a bulldozer to swat a fly,” commented UN Secretary-General António Guterres. “Except in this case, the bulldozer is armed with missiles, and the fly is somewhere in a crowded market.”
Despite the outcry, Netanyahu’s supporters remain steadfast. “He’s tough on terrorism,” said one supporter. “If a few—or a few hundred—innocents have to die to make us feel safer, so be it. They knew the risks of being born in Gaza.”
