The creator of “Leaders Number One”, a fragrance inspired by Vladimir Putin, has announced that additional scents inspired by the Russian president are already under development.
The original cologne, which smells like lemon, bergamot, blackcurrant and fir cones, was an instant hit when it went on sale in Moscow for 6,000 roubles ($114 CAD) for a 100ml bottle.
“A new scent, inspired by the President’s love of Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, will be released in the upcoming months,” said Vladislav Rekunov, the Belarus-born developer. “Dark, pungent, musky and very powerful. I’m hoping to be able to use Putin’s own sweat as an ingredient. For that reason, it will obviously be more costly than Leaders Number One.”
A limited edition export—exclusive to the Canadian market—will reportedly smell like the Russian president’s culinary adaption of a cherished Québécois recipe. “Vladimir Poutine” should be available on Montreal shelves by early next year.
